Join a dynamic team as a Manager in Secondary Markets and Post Trade Policy in London. You will represent the voice of the banking and finance industry, focusing on key policy and operational projects in the Capital Markets and Wholesale sector. Your role will be integral to enhancing the UK’s financial services post-Brexit. Representing 300 firms, this company serves as a centre of trust, expertise, and collaboration within the financial services sector. Their mission is to champion a thriving sector and contribute to building a better society.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the formulation and delivery of policy positions and operational projects on priority areas identified by the Capital Markets and Wholesale Banking industry.
  • Collaborate with team members, UK Finance members, regulatory bodies, and government officials to advocate for industry reforms.
  • Manage key member committees, working groups, and a portfolio of projects related to primary markets, corporate finance, secondary markets/post-trade, and cross-border policies.
  • Assist in responding to consultations, developing thought leadership propositions, and producing reports to galvanize member input.
  • Produce collateral that simplifies and explains policy priorities to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Work closely with other UK Finance teams on cross-cutting policy areas such as sustainable finance and digital innovations.
  • Prepare briefing materials, support thought leadership reports, and adapt to evolving policy developments and priorities.

Key Requirements

  • Strong interest in policy work with previous experience in financial services and/or policy related to banking, financial services, or trading.
  • Broad understanding of UK capital markets, political, legislative, and regulatory issues, and digital innovations shaping the industry.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic analysis and understand complex, technical policy issues.
  • Excellent diplomacy, tact, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Determined, enthusiastic, and flexible, with a passion for policy work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
