About the Role: Financial Communications Partner, Zurich

We are partnering with a leading global strategic communications consultancy to appoint a Financial Communications Partner, based in Zurich.

This is a senior leadership role within a highly respected international advisory practice, working with some of the world’s most prominent financial institutions, corporates, and investor-backed businesses. The role offers the opportunity to shape and lead high-impact financial communications programmes at the heart of one of Europe’s most important financial centres.

Reporting Line and Strategic Context

Reporting to and sitting within the senior leadership team of the financial communications practice, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and reputation of the consultancy’s Swiss operation.

The role sits at the intersection of financial communications, strategic advisory, media relations, and corporate reputation. It requires an experienced and well-connected communications leader with deep expertise in financial markets, strong senior media relationships, and the ability to provide trusted counsel to clients navigating complex and high-profile situations.

The successful candidate will be a partner-level advisor to C-suite stakeholders, boards, and investor audiences — helping to shape narratives that protect and enhance reputation at the most critical moments.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Communications Partner

Client Leadership & Strategic Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted senior advisor to clients across financial communications, investor relations, M&A communications, capital markets, and corporate positioning
  • Provide strategic counsel on high-profile, sensitive, and complex communications matters
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships at board and C-suite level
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies across a portfolio of flagship clients
  • Set and uphold the highest standards of client delivery across all mandates

Financial & Corporate Communications

  • Lead communications strategies for major transactions including IPOs, M&A, restructurings, and capital raises
  • Advise clients on earnings communications, investor messaging, and analyst engagement
  • Guide clients through crisis and issues management with clarity, confidence, and discretion
  • Craft and oversee compelling financial narratives, press releases, investor presentations, and thought leadership content
  • Monitor financial media, market developments, and the regulatory environment to provide timely and relevant client intelligence

Media Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Leverage a strong network of senior relationships across financial, business, and trade media in Switzerland and internationally
  • Drive proactive media strategies that strengthen client positioning and elevate profile
  • Manage high-stakes reactive and crisis media situations with authority and precision
  • Identify opportunities for client visibility across earned, owned, and digital channels

Business Development & Practice Growth

  • Lead new business development — identifying, pitching, and converting strategic opportunities across the Swiss and broader European market
  • Grow and deepen existing client relationships through strategic account development
  • Play an active role in shaping the consultancy’s positioning and market presence in Switzerland
  • Represent the firm externally through senior networking, industry events, and thought leadership
  • Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior and mid-level team members

Skills and Experience Required for This Financial Communications Partner Role

  • Substantial experience in financial communications, investor relations, or corporate communications at a senior level, within a leading consultancy or financial institution
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, M&A processes, and corporate finance
  • Proven track record of advising clients at board and C-suite level through transactions, crises, and high-profile communications situations
  • Well-established media relationships across Swiss, European, and international financial and business press
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills — able to craft and oversee compelling narratives for sophisticated financial audiences
  • Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrable track record of winning and growing client mandates
  • Fluent in English and German; French a significant advantage given the Swiss market
  • Based in Zurich or willing to relocate

Cultural Fit and Values

The consultancy values intellectual rigour, commercial ambition, collaborative thinking, and an unwavering commitment to client excellence. The successful candidate will bring the seniority, judgement, and discretion required to advise at the highest levels, and the entrepreneurial drive to help grow a market-leading practice. They will be as comfortable leading independently as they are collaborating across an international network of experts.
