Hanson Search is partnering with a leading international asset manager to appoint a Director of Investor Relations & Financial Communications, based in the United Arab Emirates. This is a senior, highly visible role shaping how the firm communicates its strategy and performance to shareholders, investors, analysts and the financial media. It involves working closely with the executive leadership team.

About the Director of Investor Relations & Financial Communications Role

The firm manages assets across public and private markets on behalf of institutional and wealth clients worldwide. It continues to grow its profile with the regional and international investment community.

The Director of Investor Relations will lead the investor relations and financial communications function, owning the equity story and the firm’s financial messaging. The role also acts as a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

Director of Investor Relations & Financial Communications Responsibilities

• Investor Relations Strategy: Lead the investor relations strategy, articulating a compelling investment case. Ensure the market clearly understands the firm’s growth drivers and financial performance.
• Shareholder and Analyst Engagement: Build relationships with existing and prospective shareholders and with sell-side and buy-side analysts. Manage rating agency relationships and lead investor meetings, roadshows, conferences and capital markets events.
• Results and Reporting: Lead the preparation and delivery of results announcements, earnings presentations, scripts, Q&A materials and the investor relations elements of the annual report. Work closely with finance and strategy teams, supported by the legal team.
• Financial Communications: Own the firm’s financial communications, including press releases and media engagement, ensuring consistency across all channels. Shape executive messaging on results and other key business developments, including corporate transactions.
• Media Relations: Develop strong relationships with leading regional and international financial and business media, positioning senior leadership as credible voices on markets and the industry.
• Executive Counsel: Prepare and brief senior leadership, including the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, for investor and media engagements. Provide strategic counsel on market sentiment and messaging.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor share register movements, investor sentiment, analyst views, peer performance and market developments, translating insight into clear recommendations for the leadership team and board.
• Fund Investor Communications: Partner with distribution and client teams to ensure consistent, high-quality communication of the firm’s investment capabilities and performance to institutional and wealth clients.
• Disclosure and Governance: Ensure all communications meet listing rules and regulatory disclosure requirements, overseeing disclosure processes in partnership with legal and compliance
• Crisis and Issues Management: Lead communications planning and response for sensitive issues, protecting the firm’s reputation in the market, particularly with investors and clients.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing investor relations and communications team while managing relationships with external agencies and advisers.

Investor Relations and Financial Communications Experience and Skills

• Significant investor relations and financial communications experience, gained within asset management, wider financial services, a listed company or a leading financial communications consultancy.
• Extensive experience of results cycles and capital markets events, including engagement with institutional shareholders and analysts.
• A strong understanding of asset management business models and performance metrics, including financial reporting. You will be able to translate complex financial information into compelling narratives.
• Established relationships with regional and international financial media and the investment community. Experience in the GCC is strongly preferred.
• Experience of major corporate events such as listings or transactions is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with the stakeholder management ability and gravitas to advise senior executives and board members.
• Experience leading teams and managing external agencies.
• A CFA or relevant professional qualification is advantageous, and Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
