Head of Communications and Marketing Job in London

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to work with a high growth green investment fund that embodies sustainability at the very core of everything they do. Based in London* with an emphasis on creating value for all and not just the few, this firm believes in creating wealth and benefit to all. With over $400 million AUM, there are no limitations through a sector-agnostic mindset in sectors ranging from Healthcare and Sanitation, Financial Services, Education, Agriculture, Energy and Forestry amongst others.

This Head of Marketing & Communications role involves leading the company’s communications strategy and stakeholder engagement to grow and guard its reputation.

The role will see you provide brand and communications advice to members of the 20 strong portfolio of rapid-growth companies. You will cultivate relationships with journalists and editors across African and sustainability media. Targeting country nationals, international, financial and growth capital trade press. You will be responsible for content campaigns that inspire thought and comments. Leading on crisis communications responses and offering strategic counsel to the company and that of its portfolio. Finally, you will also be responsible for the monitoring, through referenceable metrics, to assess the impact of these strategies and support the company’s founders and executive teams and deliver internal/external communications that raise the employee brand.

We are looking for someone with experience of managing and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, effectively delivering communications appropriate to each. They will have experience in the design and implementation of communications strategies and plans to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will be proficient in media relations with an understanding of journalist needs, the ability to serve as a spokesperson on sensitive areas with a skill for building lasting relationships with top tier media. Ideally, you will have an affinity to Africa and may speak French, Hausa, Swahili with considerable experience working with a venture capitalist or fund.
