About the Interim Social Media Lead Role

You’ll take charge of the organisation’s social media strategy and content output, shaping how it communicates with key audiences, spanning policymakers & industry leaders to the wider public. Your focus will be on elevating reach, relevance and impact across all channels, while ensuring the tone and storytelling reflect the organisation’s position at the heart of the built environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Social Media Lead

  • Lead the strategic direction and daily management of all social media channels.
  • Develop creative, insight-led campaigns that drive engagement and visibility.
  • Bring fresh thinking and innovation to content planning and delivery.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, marketing, and policy teams to align messaging.
  • Produce and commission high-quality, on-brand content across video, graphics and written formats.
  • Monitor performance, report on analytics, and continuously optimise activity.
  • Provide strategic guidance on brand voice, tone and community engagement.

What We’re Looking for in an Interim Social Media Lead

You’re a confident communicator with deep knowledge of digital trends and the credibility to engage senior stakeholders. You combine creative flair with strategic thinking and have the leadership presence to influence and elevate social media across the organisation.

Contract Details for the Interim Social Media Lead Role

  • Day rate: £450+ per day (outside IR35 likely)
  • Location: London, hybrid working
  • Duration: Initially 6 months, with potential to extend
