About the Role: Digital Marketing Director, Milan

We are partnering with one of the world’s most prestigious luxury groups to appoint a Digital Marketing Director based in Milan. 

This is a senior cross-brand leadership role responsible for defining and driving digital marketing strategy across an iconic portfolio of luxury brands spanning fashion, beauty, hospitality, and retail. The role offers the opportunity to shape how some of the world’s most celebrated names engage with their audiences in the digital space. 

Reporting Line and Strategic Context 

Reporting to the CMO, the successful candidate will lead the group’s digital marketing function in Italy, working in close collaboration with brand directors, e-commerce, CRM, and communications teams across the portfolio. 

The role sits at the intersection of digital strategy, luxury brand management, data and analytics, and customer experience. This is not simply a channel management role. It requires a senior digital leader with deep luxury sector expertise, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to lead and inspire a multi-brand team in one of the world’s great luxury capitals. 

The successful candidate will play a central role in elevating the group’s digital presence across Italy and internationally, ensuring every touchpoint reflects the craftsmanship, exclusivity, and storytelling at the heart of the luxury experience. 

Key Responsibilities of the Digital Marketing Director 

Strategy & Brand Leadership 

  • Define and execute the group’s digital marketing strategy across all brands and divisions in Italy 
  • Act as the digital centre of excellence, setting standards and sharing best practice across the portfolio 
  • Ensure all digital activity reflects the positioning, heritage, and values of each individual brand 
  • Partner closely with global brand and marketing leadership to align local and international strategies 

Digital Channels & Campaigns 

  • Oversee all paid, owned, and earned digital channels including SEO/SEM, social media, display, email, and programmatic 
  • Lead the planning and execution of integrated digital campaigns across the portfolio 
  • Drive innovation in digital storytelling, content, and creative formats suited to the luxury audience 
  • Identify and leverage emerging platforms, trends, and technologies relevant to luxury consumers 

Data, Performance & Technology 

  • Define KPIs and oversee performance reporting across all digital marketing activity 
  • Champion a data-driven approach — leveraging analytics, customer insights, and market intelligence to optimise campaigns and inform strategy 
  • Oversee the marketing technology stack, ensuring tools and platforms support the group’s ambitions 
  • Drive personalisation and CRM strategies to deepen client relationships and increase lifetime value 

E-commerce & Customer Experience 

  • Work in close collaboration with e-commerce teams to ensure a seamless, elevated online customer journey 
  • Champion the integration of online and offline brand experiences across all touchpoints 
  • Bring a deep understanding of the luxury consumer — their expectations, behaviours, and relationship with digital 

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing digital marketing team 
  • Foster a collaborative, ambitious, and innovative culture within the team 
  • Support talent development and long-term succession planning 

Skills and Experience Required for This Digital Marketing Director Role 

  • Significant experience in digital marketing, with a strong background in luxury, fashion, beauty, or premium consumer goods 
  • Proven track record of leading digital strategy at a senior level, ideally across multiple brands or a group environment 
  • Deep expertise across all digital channels — paid media, social, SEO/SEM, CRM, e-commerce, and analytics 
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect digital activity to measurable business outcomes 
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing, multi-brand teams 
  • Excellent understanding of the luxury consumer and the role of digital within the luxury experience 
  • Native Italian speaker with fluent English; French a significant advantage 
  • Based in Milan or willing to relocate
