Hanson Search partners with the UK Black Comms Network

If you keep up with our events, you’ll recall the very insightful event we held on the 14th October, on the representation, recruitment, and retention of Black, Asian and ethnic minorities in PR and communications. If you missed it, you can watch it here, or read the insights document here.

One of the key panel speakers was Kamiqua Pearce, the founder of the UK Black Comms Network (BCN), and we’re happy to share that we are now partners with the network.

The UK Black Comms Network exists to increase the number and seniority of Black professionals in the UK PR industry. As part of our commitment to help increase diversity and inclusion, we are pleased to be one of their recruitment partners, so that we can further support the placement of more black talent within the PR and Communications industry.

The UK Black Comms Network represents black communications professionals, with a wealth of experience across the industry, by providing peer to peer networking and professional development opportunities and using their platform to help bring about change.

The event we held in October scratched the surface but highlighted the glaring issues around recruitment and retention. The UK Black Comms Network want to ensure that Black Comms Professionals not only remain, but importantly thrive within our industry. We also want to see this and be a part of helping to bring about change within our industry to create a more diverse and fairer working world.

Here at Hanson Search we take a proactive headhunting approach, handling every brief with sensitivity, confidentiality and discretion. We use a combination of blended headhunting methods and exploration of our existing networks and know how important it is to continually review, refresh and extend those networks to ensure we are providing a wider pool of talent with opportunities to advance their careers.

We are therefore really pleased to enter this partnership with the UK Black Comms Network and share job opportunities with their members. These will be available to BCN members only app, on their virtual jobs board, and recruitment hub.

We received great feedback from the insightful event we hosted in October and hope to work with the UK BCN on future events as our partnership develops.
