A global strategic advisory group is looking for a Senior Associate EU policy and regulatory expert of Trade and Manufacturing to join their growing team in Brussels. The strategic advisory group build advocacy strategies and campaigns that transform insights and analysis into action plans to achieve client objectives.

In this role based in Brussels, you will provide trade and manufacturing supply chain due-diligence, intelligence & insight and strategic advisory to help investors and corporate firms stress-test supply chains and internationalisation strategies; from initial market scoping to detailed due diligence on export opportunities and policy and political risks.

You will advise large corporates, SMEs and innovative disruptors, along with VC firms, NGOs, trade associations and government entities, to develop the confidence needed to successfully manage volatility and adapt to fluctuations in trade and manufacturing policy frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing policy analysis and strategic advice on wide range of sectors including life-sciences, manufacturing, consumer goods, retail and e-commerce on related aspects of trade
  • Building and developing relationships with clients and a wider network of policymakers and businesses, particularly those in the life sciences sectors
  • Being an active team player, acting as an ambassador at relevant industry and policy events and providing support and mentoring to team members
  • Providing clients with guidance on political brand strategies, the development of thought leadership and innovative approaches to public policy engagements.

Key Skills:

  • Experience working on trade and industrial policy issues in government, international institutions, think tanks, and/or an in-house policy team
  • An in-depth understanding – or an interest and demonstrated ability to develop – of trade-related aspects of intellectual property, pharmaceutical regulation and cross-border compliance frameworks. Additional areas of expertise such as sustainable international trade or technical barriers to trade in digital trade or other thematic topics are a bonus
  • A motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
