Interim Senior Public Affairs Manager, Logistics
We are looking for a brilliant, highly-credible senior public affairs professional to support our client, one of the world’s largest and best-known logistics businesses, during a period of maternity leave.
About the role: senior public affairs leadership in logistics
Reporting to the VP Corporate Affairs and working within a high-performing team that spearheads advocacy across the UK and Ireland, this is a superb opportunity to step into a senior leadership role in a pacey, high-value environment.
Stepping into very capable shoes, you will act as a senior ambassador for the business, representing its activity to government and external stakeholders while leading on policy response.
You will need to marry strong political judgment and a demonstrable stakeholder network with an ability to work through complex issues, build influence and drive clear strategic direction from day one, which, incidentally, will be around late September or early October.
Calm under pressure, you will need to get up to speed quickly with policy across Westminster and the Devolved Nations.
Experience required for this public affairs and policy role
This role will suit a highly-experienced policy and public affairs professional, the sort of seasoned political operator who is equally at home in Whitehall as they are in global corporate environments.
Strong judgment and influencing skills are a prerequisite, which you will have honed in senior-level public affairs or policy roles.
Some previous experience in policy areas adjacent to logistics or supply chain, including transport (aviation and road), trade facilitation, customs and borders, and employment and skills, would be very helpful. You will also need at least five years’ leadership or management experience.
