We are partnering with a renowned luxury brand to hire a Head of Communications. This senior leadership position will oversee the company’s communications strategy, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s prestigious image and supports business growth. The role will manage a team of 5 communications professionals and work closely with Marketing, Creative, and Executive teams to shape the brand narrative, lead media relations, and engage with key stakeholders.

As the Head of Communications, you will be responsible for the external reputation of the brand, ensuring the messaging resonates across all communications channels, including media, thought leadership, and internal communications. This role requires an extensive understanding of the luxury sector, with a focus on high-end storytelling, brand reputation, and strategic customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Communications

  • External Communications & Brand PR Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance the brand’s image, visibility, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Media Relations: Build and nurture relationships with leading media outlets, luxury press, influencers, and key industry figures. Ensure the brand receives high-quality coverage in premium publications.
  • Executive Thought Leadership: Position the company’s senior executives as thought leaders within the luxury sector. Manage their media appearances, speeches, and thought leadership contributions.
  • Crisis Communications: Take the lead on crisis management, ensuring the brand’s reputation is protected during sensitive situations. Maintain consistent and clear messaging.
  • Brand Messaging & Storytelling: Own and evolve the brand’s messaging, ensuring that all communications resonate with the luxury market. Work closely with creative teams to produce compelling stories that align with the brand’s ethos.
  • Internal Communications: Ensure clear, transparent internal communications that align with the brand’s values. Foster an inclusive and high-performance culture, especially as the company continues to scale.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 5 communications professionals. Provide guidance, training, and leadership to build a strong, effective team.
  • Product Launches & Events: Oversee and support the communications strategy around product launches, exclusive events, and high-profile campaigns to maintain brand prestige.
  • Stakeholder Management: Oversee relationships with external agencies, media partners, and key stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective messaging.

Experience required:

  • Extensive experience in leading communications for a luxury brand, fashion house, or premium lifestyle company.
  • Strong background in corporate communications, media relations, and public relations within the luxury or high-end retail sector.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a small team with a focus on collaboration and growth.
  • Proven success in securing top-tier media coverage in leading global publications and luxury media outlets.
  • Expertise in crisis management and brand reputation management in high-profile situations.
  • Ability to provide strategic communications advice to senior executives and the ability to influence C-suite decisions.
  • A deep understanding of the luxury market, consumer behaviours, and emerging trends.
  • Exceptional writing, messaging, and content creation skills, with a focus on luxury storytelling.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple complex projects.

Additional Experience for This Luxury Communications Role

While not essential, the following experience would be considered advantageous:

  • Experience in overseeing high-profile product launches or flagship campaigns in the luxury space.
  • Cross-cultural communication experience, especially with affluent consumers in different regions.
  • Experience working with celebrity, influencer, or ambassador partnerships in the luxury sector
