As part of this ambitious expansion, the Editorial team plays a critical role in shaping the stories, voices, and narratives that accompany and amplify Art Basel Doha across all digital and print channels.

Job Summary

The Editorial Assistant supports the creation, coordination, and delivery of all editorial and content materials for Art Basel Qatar. This role spans written articles, video content, photography, and social media, ensuring consistent quality and timely execution across platforms. The Editorial Assistant manages schedules, facilitates internal and external reviews, oversees translation and localization efforts, prepares reports, and supports overall content operations related to Art Basel’s presence in Qatar.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the production of editorial, film, and social media content for Art Basel Qatar and its partners.
  • Manage content timelines, approval workflows, and deliverables to ensure alignment with deadlines and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams—including Editorial, Partnerships, Marketing, and Communications—as well as external writers, filmmakers, translators, and creative agencies.
  • Upload, publish, and quality-check content across Art Basel’s digital platforms.
  • Support the creation of partner-facing reports, including analytics, engagement summaries, and visibility insights.
  • Gather and organize partner feedback, assets, and reference materials for all content packages.
  • Coordinate translation and localization processes to ensure accuracy, cultural relevance, and alignment with regional standards.
  • Track, document, and maintain an archive of all Qatar-related content, including articles, videos, and social assets.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including contract processing and invoice management.
  • Support budget tracking for content produced as part of partnership agreements.
  • Contribute ideas for new stories, formats, and angles relevant to Art Basel Qatar and the broader MENA region.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience/Education

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital content production, editorial coordination, or project management, ideally in the arts or cultural sectors.
  • At least one prior professional experience within an art institution, gallery, museum, or cultural organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within international or cross-cultural teams.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • High level of independence, initiative, and accountability.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and project management software.
  • Experience writing or editing SEO-optimized content.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable collaborating across time zones.
  • Knowledge of contemporary art and familiarity with the Gulf/MENA cultural landscape is highly preferred.

Languages

  • Excellent English and Arabic (written and spoken) required.
  • French is an advantage.
