Partner role in EU Public Affairs, Brussels

You will lead and grow a practice of your own, advising companies facing high-stakes regulatory, trade and political challenges in Brussels and beyond. The firm deliberately focuses on senior advisory work rather than monitoring or high-volume tendering, so your time goes into strategy, client relationships and the issues that matter most to boards and leadership teams.

You will have real freedom to shape your offer, whether you bring deep sector knowledge or a niche service the market is missing, along with the backing to build a lean, high-performing team around it. Areas of particular interest include energy, metals and mining, heavy industry, chemicals, sustainability, trade and financial services, although the firm remains open to other specialisms with strong commercial potential.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a new practice or area of expertise within the Brussels office
• Generate new business and grow a portfolio of high-value clients
• Provide senior strategic counsel on EU policy, regulatory and political issues
• Design and oversee integrated advocacy and policy communication campaigns
• Develop and manage a small or big, high-performing team
• Contribute to the growth and management of the office alongside the partner group

Key requirements

• A proven track record of generating new business in EU public affairs or a related field
• A strong, trusted network across the European Parliament, the European Commission or the Permanent Representations
• Deep expertise in a sector or policy area with clear commercial potential
• A structured, organised approach and a genuine interest in governance and management
• The ability to combine hands-on delivery with business development
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional European languages are an asset
