Our client, a leading organisation in London, is seeking an experienced corporate affairs professional to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering its government and stakeholder engagement strategy. Working closely with the Director of Corporate Affairs, this role offers the opportunity to influence major policy and regulatory conversations across London and the UK, while building trusted relationships with senior decision-makers in government, local authorities, and industry bodies.
This is a high-profile position at the heart of a complex and dynamic stakeholder environment. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring the organisation is well-positioned on key political, regulatory, and policy issues.
Corporate Affairs Associate Director: Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and deliver a strategic approach to corporate and government affairs, aligned with the organisation’s long-term objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with politicians, advisers, regulators, and public bodies.
- Lead engagement with local and regional stakeholders, including the GLA, Transport for London, and borough authorities.
- Plan and implement public affairs campaigns that influence policy outcomes and enhance the organisation’s reputation.
- Provide clear and timely advice to senior leadership on political and regulatory developments.
- Draft research papers, consultation responses, and submissions to government and regulatory bodies.
- Represent the organisation at high-level meetings, select committee hearings, conferences, and political events.
- Oversee stakeholder mapping and manage the corporate affairs contact database.
- Monitor political donations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Experience and Background – What We’re Looking For
- Experience in government affairs, public affairs, or stakeholder engagement, ideally with exposure to complex infrastructure, property, or regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of the UK political landscape and government processes, including local and regional planning authorities.
- Proven ability to deliver high-impact engagement strategies and campaigns.
- Experience advising and influencing senior leadership teams.
- Knowledge of environmental policy and the wider public sector is desirable.
