I took a call recently from someone I placed in the UAE several years ago. Since then, they have been promoted a few times, relocated their family and built a life here. They are now ready for their next chapter and they called me first. That call stopped me in my tracks, not because it was unusual but because it reminded me of exactly why I have dedicated over 25 years of my career to this market.

Over 25 years in executive search, I have watched the UAE evolve into one of the most dynamic and competitive talent markets in the world. I have seen sectors emerge, organisations scale from nothing into global institutions and professionals arrive from every corner of the world to build careers they could not have imagined elsewhere.
And through all of it, the one thing that has never changed is this: the best outcomes always come from relationships, not transactions.

If there is one thing two and a half decades in this industry has taught me, it is that the best candidates are almost never the ones actively looking. They are the ones you have known for years, the ones you have watched grow, the ones you have stayed close to through promotions and pivots and life changes and the moment they are ready to move, they think of you.
Building that kind of trust takes time. It takes consistency. It takes showing up, not just when there is something to offer but simply to stay connected, to listen and to care.
In a market as fast-moving and competitive as the UAE, that depth of relationship is the single most valuable thing an executive search specialist can bring to the table.
