We are supporting a global organisation in the search for a Vice President of Public Affairs to be based in Washington, DC. This role requires a highly experienced public affairs professional with a strong oil & gas background and deep understanding of the U.S. policy and regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead U.S. public affairs and government relations strategy
- Build and maintain senior relationships across Congress, federal agencies and key stakeholders
- Shape and influence policy and regulatory outcomes impacting the business
- Develop and execute advocacy campaigns aligned to commercial priorities
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on political and regulatory risks
- Monitor and interpret legislative and policy developments
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in public affairs / government relations within the oil & gas sector
- Strong network across U.S. government, policymakers, and industry bodies
- Proven track record of influencing policy and regulatory outcomes
- Deep understanding of U.S. energy policy and geopolitical dynamics
- Experience operating in complex, high-stakes environments
- Based in, or willing to relocate to Washington DC
