My client, a leading global strategic advisory firm is looking for a Vice President of the Policy Insights team.

The VP, Policy Insights will lead a team, engaging senior policy makers in Congress, at a State, Local and primarily Federal level.

Clients span across Technology, Financial Services, Trade, Energy and Healthcare, and they rely on the expertise knowledge of a highly experienced team bringing decades of experience in business, government, communications, research, technology, and media. 

The VP of Policy Insights is a senior role responsible for leading a team in developing and executing a company-wide strategy for policymaker engagement.

The Role

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with policymakers participating in the company’s research
  • Build awareness and trust with policymakers on the Hill
  • Lead efforts to retain past research participants and grow its network of new policymakers
  • Serve as “the face” of the team, externally to policymakers, and provide the “voice of policymakers” internally
  • Establish partnerships with relevant caucuses, associations, networks, and entities to encourage the growth of the reach across policymakers
  • Play a key leadership role on the External Affairs and Policy Insights teams through managing and partnering with team leaders to develop and achieve strategic objectives
  • Partner with team leaders, providing guidance and support on hiring, professional development and management of teams

Ideal Candidate

  • 7+ years’ experience engaging senior federal policymakers, with deep insight into the needs and interests of federal policymakers
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience working on Capitol Hill, at a senior level
  • Relationship-builder: Proven ability to develop relationships with influencers at all levels
  • Communication: Truly exceptional communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Experience developing persuasive messaging and effective communications
  • Agility: Ability to act and react quickly and flexibly in a fast-paced environment, with ability to thrive in ambiguous, entrepreneurial and dynamic environments
  • Experience working in advocacy, fundraising, or political campaigns
