As a Public Affairs Senior Consultant, you will provide strategic counsel and support to high-profile clients navigating the complex EU regulatory landscape. Your focus will be on AI regulation, data privacy, online platform governance, consumer protection, and broader digital policy issues. You will work collaboratively with international teams and senior stakeholders, playing a central role in managing mandates, driving engagement with policymakers, and crafting compelling narratives that influence outcomes.

Senior Public Affairs Consultant Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level public affairs counsel and political insight to clients across the tech and digital sectors.
  • Monitor and analyse EU legislative and regulatory developments, particularly in AI, data protection, consumer rights, and digital platforms.
  • Develop and execute integrated public affairs strategies that align with client objectives and regulatory timelines.
  • Engage with EU institutions, policymakers, industry groups, and civil society to shape and inform debate.
  • Manage client projects with efficiency and professionalism, ensuring high-quality delivery and budget oversight.
  • Draft briefings, position papers, stakeholder maps, and strategic communication materials.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal writing, pitching and growing existing accounts.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants, fostering talent and building team capability.

Senior Public Affairs Consultant Key Requirements

This role is ideal for a motivated, policy-savvy communicator with a deep understanding of the Brussels ecosystem and a strong track record in EU public affairs within the digital and tech policy space. You will have:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in public affairs, preferably within a consultancy, EU institution, trade association, or in-house policy role.
  • Expertise in AI regulation, privacy, data governance, digital markets, and/or consumer protection policy.
  • A solid understanding of EU policymaking processes and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex issues for varied audiences.
  • A proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and clients in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional EU languages a plus).
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and a drive for delivering excellence.
