Shape policy at the heart of European tech regulation

An international strategic advisory firm is looking for a Public Affairs Director to lead its technology sector practice in Brussels. This role offers the opportunity to work at the centre of EU policymaking, supporting major technology clients in navigating regulation, political risk and public scrutiny across digital policy, AI, data governance and innovation.

You will play a senior leadership role, advising global clients on regulatory developments, stakeholder engagement, and positioning in an evolving political landscape. This is a strategic, client-facing position where you can drive impact on the issues shaping the future of the digital economy.

A senior leadership opportunity in EU public affairs

As Public Affairs Director, you will lead key accounts across the tech ecosystem — from digital platforms and AI start-ups to telecoms and cloud providers. You will manage a team of consultants, build relationships with senior EU stakeholders, and provide trusted advice to clients navigating fast-moving digital policy files such as the Digital Services Act, AI Act and Data Act.

This is a high-impact role suited to someone with both strong EU policy knowledge and the confidence to lead strategic discussions with regulators, clients and cross-border teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading client strategy on public affairs, regulation and political risk in the technology sector
  • Building trusted relationships with EU institutions, trade associations and civil society
  • Guiding clients through digital and innovation-related legislation at national and EU levels
  • Contributing to thought leadership on issues such as AI, data, digital markets and cybersecurity
  • Managing and developing a team of consultants within the Brussels office
  • Collaborating with international teams to deliver coordinated cross-border campaigns
  • Driving business development and identifying growth opportunities in the tech sector

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in EU public affairs, with a focus on technology, digital policy or innovation
  • Deep understanding of the EU legislative process and policymaking environment
  • Experience advising clients on regulatory or reputational issues in tech or telecoms
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to guide teams and shape client strategy
  • Entrepreneurial approach and commercial mindset
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset

Join a collaborative, international team

You’ll be joining a consultancy with a strong European and global footprint, known for combining political insight with strategic communications. The team in Brussels works closely with colleagues across the UK, US and Middle East, sharing knowledge and best practice across sectors and geographies.

The firm fosters a professional and inclusive working environment where individuals are trusted to lead and encouraged to grow.
