Senior Events Director Job in the energy & sustainability industry
We are seeking a Senior Events Director for a highly prestigious role with a globally recognised business based in the UAE. You will lead an impactful events program across business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) initiatives. The role requires providing commercial leadership and strategic direction to the leadership function, managing and developing a team, and serving as a leader within the communications function. This position covers a wide range of critical industry topics, including sustainability, diversity, youth development, and energy.
Key Responsibilities of the Events Director:
Leadership & Strategy: Provide structure and vision to a dynamic team, leading the planning and execution of events ranging from high-end local engagements and executive dinners to major international programs across the UAE, USA, UK, and Europe.
Event & Campaign Management: Oversee a multifaceted events portfolio, ensuring every project—from intimate dinners to global events—is flawlessly delivered. Optimize logistics, budgets, and strategic partnerships to drive successful outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with high-level stakeholders, including government ministers, business leaders, and international partners. Lead complex negotiations and collaborations, ensuring events meet objectives while maintaining excellent communication both internally and externally.
Team Development: Manage, mentor, and grow a capable team, equipping them to drive future success in an evolving global event landscape.
Project & Business Development: Lead the development of innovative strategies to grow the business and expand the reach of events, leveraging your experience in business transformation, commercial strategies, and partnership development.
Events Director Essential Requirements:
A globally recognised expert in B2B and B2G marketing with experience leading large-scale, high-profile events.
Cultural Awareness: Some experience working in the Middle East and a deep understanding of cultural protocols to ensure events resonate with both local and international audiences.
Strong leadership skills, with a collaborative, nurturing, and driven personality.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in consultancy roles or lead within large, matrixed organisations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of developing partnerships and delivering exceptional financial growth.
