Our client, a leader in international Oil & Gas/Power and Energy, is seeking a Director of Sustainability/ ESG to join the Head office team based in Abu Dhabi. This role will be in place to support, enable, plan, and oversee the Group’s activities relating to all Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters.
ESG is a key component of the businesses’ ongoing operational strategy, with the aim of being an industry leader in key ESG areas. The Director of Sustainability will work with across the business and key functions to shape the strategy, agenda and focus to develop a roadmap to ensure the organisation is recognised as a clean energy and sustainability champion.
The Director of Sustainability will support the delivery of key business initiatives including the sustainability report and will provide support and guidance to help enhance the ESG insights and define core focus areas.
This role will have a key part in supporting the execution of the ESG strategy through growth and optimisation and ensuring alignment with external ESG frameworks.
Our client is looking for an individual who has at least 10 years’ proven experience in environmental, health and safety, operations, project execution and/or ESG related activities with a Bachelors’ degree in environmental studies, engineering, sustainability, or related subject. Experience in Utilities, investment management and green finance, a Strong knowledge of GRI framework and science-based target setting (SBTi) and Strong leadership skills to be able to drive the sustainability change management across all our businesses
