Our client is a leading multinational organisation committed to excellence in corporate communications and stakeholder engagement. They are seeking a skilled Media Relations Manager in Geneva to help lead and advance their media relations and communications strategy. This key role will involve working closely with the Global Head of Media Relations to develop strong relationships with journalists and publications, ensuring the effective delivery of key messages across multiple platforms and channels. This is an exciting opportunity to shape brand identity and enhance corporate reputation in a dynamic, fast-paced international environment.

As Media Relations Manager, you will:

  • Develop and implement media, social media and communications strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and brand positioning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters, editors, and media outlets to secure accurate and positive coverage
  • Draft, edit and distribute press releases, media kits and other communications materials
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to tailor media and external communications approaches
  • Organise and manage media engagements, including press events, interviews and industry summits
  • Monitor media coverage, track performance metrics and provide actionable insights and reports to senior management
  • Assist with crisis communications, responding promptly and effectively to media enquiries
  • Work closely with marketing, commercial, legal, finance and HR teams to ensure messaging consistency
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging media platforms and competitor activity to identify new engagement opportunities

Key Requirements:

  • 5–10 years’ experience in media relations, either in-house at a multinational or at a consultancy serving global clients
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience with social media platforms and media monitoring/analytics tools
  • Financial media relations expertise, including the ability to understand company financial statements
  • Knowledge of the commodities or natural resources sector is advantageous but not essential
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Native English proficiency; additional languages are a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a highly organised and collaborative working style
