Our client, Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) Europe is an international NGO leading the global movement in sustainable healthcare. HCWH Europe is looking for a Director of Communications & Marketing to join their European team. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will be part of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for shaping the organisation’s strategy and operational processes, you will have the freedom to design and implement the strategy for all marketing and communications for the region overall. Key Responsibilities:   

  • Developing and delivering the organisation’s vision, brand and positioning and evaluate strategic and annual communications across HCWH Europe’s stakeholders.
  • Leading consistent and compelling storytelling and other content that grows and engages audiences and effectively communicates HCWH Europe’s mission. Overseeing the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including HCWH Europe’s website, newsletters, project reports and publications, advocacy initiatives, annual report, and fundraising materials.
  • Developing and implementing a Network Development & Engagement Strategy that supports HCWH Europe’s strategic goals, incorporating HCWH Europe’s main membership network (GGHH), and health professionals’ networks.
  • Leading efforts to test and measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications activities and the level of engagement within the network over time – regularly interpret analytics to adjust and support strategies, campaigns, and content.
  • Demonstrating strong and experienced leadership and decision-making skills while leading and developing the Communications, Networks & Outreach team.
  • Training and guiding junior team members and contributing to organisational culture as part of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Fostering culture which values diversity and inclusion and promoting a creative and vibrant environment where safety and well-being is encouraged.

Key Requirements:  

  • Senior leadership experience working in a Communications & Marketing field, preferably in non-profit, healthcare or pharmaceutical sector.
  • Experience of managing a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership, as well as the capability to influence and directly engage a wide range of stakeholders including potential funders.
  • Targeted and growth-focused decision capabilities, proven expert judgment, calculated risk-taking and exceptional strategic thinking.
  • Entrepreneurial and strategic thinker who is digitally minded, with an ambition to drive growth, develop tangible goals and make things happen.
  • Creative communicator with personal drive and passion, adept at driving and managing change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and empowering a team.
  • Being able to travel regularly and represent the organisation at conferences, meetings and events locally, regionally and internationally.
