Camille Chevallier Hanson Search

From our offices in London, Europe, the UAE and the US, our team of expert Hanson Search consultants source the best communications talent globally, from PR professionals to digital marketing experts.

Over the coming weeks, we’re shining the spotlight on the people behind the profiles who make that possible. Today, we’re speaking to Camille Chevallier, Senior Consultant at Hanson Search.

Camille spent over 20 years in leadership roles across global agencies and in-house EMEA teams including Publicis, TBWA Corporate, MullenLowe, Eurostar and Expedia. Today she specialises in marketing and communications recruitment across the EMEA region, drawing on her extensive industry experience to support both clients and candidates. She also lectures in cross-cultural management at Paris University, teaching Master’s students.

How did you get into recruitment/executive search?

After two decades in the marketing and communications industry, I trained as an executive coach specialising in international mobility and cultural awareness. Joining Hanson Search felt like a natural next step, allowing me to combine my industry insight, coaching expertise and genuine interest in the sector and in people.

What is your current role at Hanson Search?

I recruit across the full spectrum of marketing and communications roles across the EMEA region, from Paris, Frankfurt to Madrid and Doha. I primarily focus on mid-senior to C-suite level appointments. My day-to-day involves working closely with clients and candidates to understand their goals and provide strategic advice.

What do you love most about this role?

Guiding people through pivotal career moments, whether it’s a candidate discovering their ideal role or a business finding the perfect person. I value the long-term relationships I build, based on deep industry expertise, trust and active listening.

What do you think you bring to this role specifically that’s unique to you?

A combination of hands-on industry experience and coaching expertise. Having led myself international teams both in agencies and in-house, I understand the challenges and expectations they face. As a certified executive coach and MBTI practitioner, I help people navigate pivotal career moments with insight and clarity. Many candidates and former clients also approach me directly for career advice or business insight, something I like and see as a genuine mark of trust.

What challenges are you currently seeing in the landscape?

Recruitment is increasingly challenging in today’s uncertain economic climate. Organisations are seeking professionals who can deliver clear, strategic messaging while navigating rapid change and rising expectations around ESG, DEI and transparency. There’s strong demand for talent with digital fluency, stakeholder skills and a positive, entrepreneurial mindset. Cultural awareness and the ability to engage diverse, dispersed teams are also essential,  but people who can do it well are scarce.

How can you help support against these challenges?

I believe in being agile and partnering closely with clients to fully understand their needs and challenges. With my background in both industry and coaching, I offer tailored advice shaped by strong ethics, active listening and valuable insights.

What current opportunities are you seeing for both candidates and businesses?

Geographically, a lot is happening. Milan is fast becoming a creative and strategic hub, Spain is picking up pace and the Nordics continue to thrive. In the Middle East, the focus has shifted from hiring solely based on technical skills to identifying professionals who bring real added value, leadership potential and cultural awareness.

AI is transforming the landscape, increasing the need for talent with soft skills such as adaptability, communication and critical thinking, alongside technical fluency. There’s also a growing demand for globally minded, culturally aware professionals. A new generation of agile, international managers is emerging and businesses are actively looking to build cross-border, future-ready teams.

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give candidates looking for their next role right now?

Be bold and take time to reflect on what truly matters to you, beyond job titles and salaries. Think about the values, culture and type of work that motivates and energises you. Then craft a personal narrative around that with intention and clarity.

And what’s the one piece of advice you’d give organisations looking for their next hire?

Keep an open mind. The best candidates might not match every requirement on paper, but they bring the mindset, curiosity and cultural fit that can make a transformative impact on your team.
