Hanson Search support the launch of Women in PR Middle East

I am delighted to announce the launch of Women in PR Middle East, part of the Global Women in PR. The joint launch event which I am chairing will take place on International Women’s Day, March 8th, in collaboration with the launch of the PRCA in the Middle East. Global Women in PR

Both groups will be great additions to the Middle East’s PR industry. The PRCA is the largest PR professional association in Europe, representing over 18,000 members across the continent. Women in PR originated in the UK as a specialist support network for female PR professionals to meet up, share best practices, and inspire women to reach their full potential. The launch of Women in PR Middle East is timely for the region as the representation of women in society, the economy and the workforce continues to be a hot topic.

Last year, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the formation of a Gender Balance Council, which aims to enhance women’s roles in building the future of the nation. And just this week, the Women’s Forum Dubai 2016 will bring together over 200 speakers and 2,000 delegates from around the world to discuss strengthening the role of women in economic development and nation building.

There are many issues that have come to light regarding women in the PR industry in recent years. The most startling being the under-representation of women in leadership roles, despite the fact that 67% of the industry is composed of females. By launching Women in PR ME and PRCA MENA, I believe we will be able to better address the challenges facing women in the industry in the Middle East, as well as better supporting our clients and industry partners by providing access to these professional bodies. Women in PR ME are looking to host events quarterly.
