Hanson Search: A Reflection On 2021, A Year of Ambitious Goals
What a year it's been for many businesses navigating around the pandemic, pivoting to new working practices and a lack of talent whilst also demand levels surged like nothing that I have experienced in 20 years of recruiting.
Like many others we didn't want to standstill and at the start of 2021 we set ourselves some ambitious goals to work towards as both an employer and as a talent business looking forward. These goals set the foundations for how we operated this year and we are delighted to share with you below our achievements across these key areas, that I am very proud of.

Ebony Gayle joins our diversity advisory board
Last year we announced Ebony Gayle joining our diversity advisory board to champion our commitments to education, promotion and change both internally and support our clients in finding, hiring & retaining from Black, Asian and minority backgrounds. Hanson Search partners with the UK Black Comms Network
We are delighted to have partnered with UK Black Comms Network this year. The UK Black Comms Network exists to increase the number and seniority of Black professionals in the UK PR industry. As part of our commitment to help increase diversity and inclusion, we are pleased to be on of their recruitment partners, so that we can further support the placement of more black talent within the PR and Communications industry. Hanson Search releases future of the workplace survey report
In the summer for 2021 we ran a survey in partnership with MovePlan, to secure industry views on the future of the workplace, to help with your internal decision-making as well as planning the next steps in your career.
We were delighted by the industry pick up, with this report featured across national publications, Broadcast and Podcasts including Evening Standard, City A.M, Sky News, PR Week, Campaign and PRMoment.

Hanson Search become a majority employee-owned business to drive next stage of growth.
In 2021 an Employee Owned Trust (EOT) acquired a majority of the shares for and on behalf of the staff at Hanson Search. We see our team as our biggest and most important asset, and we think that collective ownership gives us the best possible platform to grow and thrive in the years ahead. This move will enable us to further reward and motivate everyone whilst also providing more opportunities for everyone to contribute to the performance and future growth of the business.
Hanson Search moves!
After 10 years of working on the Strand we have moved to our new office at 90 High Holborn. This new space is equipped with gym, exercise classes and a multitude of breakout areas that suit everyone's new working patterns, will enable the team to flourish in a new hybrid working world.
Goal: Promote a sustainable working environment in line with the 2030 Global Goals
Hanson Search is now a carbon neutral business!
The effects of climate change have been detected worldwide and the importance of reducing our carbon footprint to reverse the damage is now imperative. In September last year we partnered with Ecologi to become a carbon neutral business, this means the carbon emissions caused by Hanson Search and our staff are balanced out by funding an equivalent amount of climate projects elsewhere in the world.
We have so far offset 57.4 tonnes of CO2 and planted 790 trees!
