Our client, a prominent utilities organisation based in Abu Dhabi, is currently seeking a Strategy Advisor to join the team. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for supporting and advising the Managing Director on key strategic decisions to be implemented within the organisation to promote business growth and improvement. 

This role is instrumental to the ongoing implementation of the overall strategy plan for the business, the Strategic Advisor will partner with divisions across the business to ensure synergy throughout the transformation process. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join an evolving, innovative, customer centric business. In this role there will be a key focus to ensure key financial and strategic recommendations are being made to align with the overall business transformation plan.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background working in strategic advisory roles within the utilities sector, you may also come from a consultancy background advising on strategic business transformation programs and making financial recommendations within the utilities or services sector. 

 Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning, organizing, supervising and controlling the overall Strategy plan for the organisation.
  • Review of policies and procedures to ensure efficient implementation of the directives of the Managing Director.
  • Work with the Managing Director in preparing strategic submissions and reports to the Board of Directors as well as advising on major growth plans and initiatives.
  • Provide technical support through specialized advice in areas of expertise including budgeting, strategy and capital.
  • Work with the across the organisation to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, and act as first level reviewer of company and staff performance.
  • Support the development, implementation and enhancement of the corporate excellence framework aligned to regional and global excellence models.
  • Support the development, implementation and enhancement of the business transformation and business continuity framework, policies and tools aligned to promote regional and global excellence.
  • Undertake assessments of international best practice in utility operations with special focus on relevance to conditions in the sector and submit authoritative reports to the Managing Director.
  • Encourage cross functional collaboration across multiple business divisions.
