Senior Public Affairs Manager

A cutting-edge, award-winning biopharmaceutical company is looking for a Senior Public Affairs professional for the French market, as they launch a new product across the Europe.

Our clients mission is to transform the lives of seriously ill patients and their families. Their strategy is to build on their world leading position in their field. They have developed an extensive international network of the most prominent scientists and assembled a large in-house team with extensive experience. 

Based in Paris, this is the perfect role for someone who comes from a pharma background, but wants to bring their skill and experience to a more entrepreneurial business.  You will be developing and implementing the Public Affairs and Public Relations strategies for the portfolio of drugs that are new to market but having a major impact in the rare disease therapy areas. Working with government departments and governing bodies you will be leading the government relations activities across France and develop a communications strategy to support this.  

Key responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the development and delivery of key external Public Affairs and PR engagement activities in France
  • Represent the company in stakeholder engagement activities, to include, but not limited to; trade associations, MPs, governmental stakeholders, media and other key players at a national level
  • Lead on key streams of national-level strategy work including, disease awareness, coalition development and education
  • Leverage agencies and gather intelligence to bring together regular reports with analysis
  • Work with country teams across; Market Access, Marketing and Medical to align and develop joint initiatives

Key requirements  

  • Substantial political, media and policy experience and/or scientific and/or legal background operating at a national level in France
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Pharma background with a strong understanding of the sector, compliance considerations, codes of practice, laws and regulations 
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, capable of reviewing complex issues, documents and drawing out key points of relevance 
  • First-class project management and coordination skills, as working across markets and working with people remotely
