A fantastic opportunity for a Public Affairs Professional with a European scope to join a Canadian renewable energy company who have had a high growth in 2020. The company develops, builds, owns and operates sustainable infrastructure assets that produce 'clean' (natural gas) and 'green' (wind, solar, and hydro) energy, providing long-term value to shareholders, stakeholders, and host communities. They have a big opportunity for growth in Europe and are expecting two exciting development projects in 2021.
You will be ambitious, directly engaging with key players including governments, industry regulators, industry peers and other stakeholders to advance the interests of the European development team. This is an exciting and innovative role that focuses on renewable energy.
The Manager of Public Affairs - Europe role will be based in Germany with frequent travel to Berlin or Hamburg. This position will require regular travel within Europe to support the company’s European development team.
This position reports directly to the Managing Director of European Development, but will also have a shared reporting obligation to the Senior Director of Public Affairs.
This role requires you to actively monitor policy and legislative processes in key European markets, as you will provide insights and briefings to the European development team.
Design, execute and manage outreach and engagement strategies, related to both government affairs and communications, in coordination with the European development team and Corporate Affairs team.
Coordinating with partner and project level public affairs teams, as applicable, to ensure common understanding of issues, positions and messaging, and tactics to support various initiatives.
Overseeing external public affairs consultants, as required, to support the activities of the European development team.
