Our client is a highly respected, well recognised, and multi-award-winning Public Affairs agency. They have built their reputation from working with a variety of notable clients. From developers to house builders, NHS organisations to major institutions, to sports clubs and cultural institutions. With great team support and fantastic offices in London, our client has created an ideal environment for you to help shape the future of the business.

They are looking for an experienced Account Director with a solid background working in an agency and running a range of client accounts. A specialist in property and regeneration projects, ideally with public sector bodies including the NHS and London Boroughs. As well as experience working across corporate communications, public consultations, media relations, stakeholder communications, and public affairs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and providing strategic direction to drive accounts
  • Leading the management of teams, working closely with a Director or Board Director where appropriate
  • Being a key contact point for clients
  • Implementing and monitoring communications strategies and proposals
  • Heading-up and driving meetings with clients, including those to win/secure new business
  • Managing team members and providing leadership and support for more junior staff
  • Selling-in and overseeing the selling-in by others to national, regional, local, trade, and broadcast media
  • Managing budgets and overseeing client billing on projects
  • Regularly networking and developing relationships
  • Dealing confidently with senior individuals in the private and public sectors
  • Making a major contribution to identifying new business leads

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent drafting and reviewing skills – communication strategies, press releases, key message sheets, proposal documents or client brochures.
  • Strong organisational abilities
  • First-class client handling and good management skills
  • High understanding of issues management
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a straight talker both with colleagues and clients
  • A strategic thinker with an ability to condense complex issues into clear and concise messages
  • Happy in a small team environment and a good sense of humour
  • Comfortable with having agreed targets
  • Good IT and presentational skills
