Our client is an award-winning international business communications consultancy that specialises in reputation, influence and engagement. They work with a range of clients from FTSE100 enterprises to SMEs just starting out on their journey. There are 320 employees in 10 offices across the EMEA region, working across six practice areas and a range of sector specialisms.

They are looking for an established Associate Director to join the Business Resilience team within their Strategic Advisory Services practice.

As second-in-command to the Head of the Strategic Advisory Services team, you will be responsible for driving the Business Resilience team to deliver on its strategy for sustainable growth. This includes supporting day to day management of the Business Resilience team (six people), leading business development activities, building new internal and external partnerships and overseeing a significant portfolio of client accounts.

You will lead on large client programmes and provide strategic advice to organisations, helping them solve complex business challenges. You will also provide crisis management support to clients across a range of industries such as food and drink, FMCG, industrials and leisure.

The role could be based in Bicester or London, with travel between the two, and may involve some international travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Business Resilience team, with support from other Partners
  • Share responsibility for achieving Strategic Advisory Services’ overall KPIs and P&L targets
  • Manage and develop the people in the Business Resilience team, including line management of key individuals
  • Raise the profile of the team’s expertise within the company and externally
  • Build new internal and external partnerships
  • Manage the team’s response to new business leads, including proposal development and pitching
  • Provide strategic advice and direction across a portfolio of clients
  • Contribute strategic and creative ideas and develop these into tangible concepts

Key Requirments:

  • At least 10 years’ experience helping businesses solve complex resilience problems
  • Strong leadership capabilities and team management skills
  • Hands-on experience in risk and crisis management, from both a strategic and communications standpoint
  • A willingness and confidence to learn the wider range of consultancy services on offer as part of the Strategic Advisory Services offer
  • Leadership skills & ability to influence in the boardroom
