A Public Sector organisation requires a PR Manager for a 3 month fixed term contract to assist in the press office. You will be part of a 12 strong team where you will be leading major PR framework projects, advising on strategy, running competitive pitches and providing on-going consultancy across a range of multi-disciplinary campaigns. You will also have the opportunity to apply for the role on a permanent basis.
You must have experience/skills in the following;
· Working with or in a PR agency
· Managing external suppliers
· Client handling skills
· Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
· Financial budgeting
· Media relations
· Public sector communications experience
· Education campaign experience would be highly advantageous
The role will consist of managing and overseeing projects, including written briefs, advising on strategy, managing suppliers, attending client meetings, and evaluating campaigns. You will appoint, manage and oversee work undertaken by PR agencies for client campaigns, be responsible for all financial and administrative management relating to campaigns, keep clients informed of all project developments on a regular basis, draw up agency contracts and ensure that all activity is delivered on time and on budget. You will be running pitches and agency reviews along with acting as the sounding board for clients and advise on best practice and procurement.
