The Company:
 
My client are an innovative and leading international commercialisation firm who invest in technology companies across a range of sectors, including healthcare, in order to bring valuable, useful and potentially life saving ideas to the market place. They provide an integrated approach to business and perform a variety of different functions, including early stage investment, licensing, license negotiation and product validation. They are focused on turning painstaking research and pioneering ideas into products which can be easily marketed and are fully accessible.
 
The Role:
 
This exciting role has been newly created and thus will enable you to be involved with every aspect of its development. It entails working in communications, media and marketing across the whole company and with all its various stakeholders, including work with outside organisations and agencies. The role will necessitate coordinating and managing external and internal communications, all of which address a wide range of audiences. 
 
A large focus will be on the media relations element of the role and raising the profile of the organisation and also the affiliate companies. The role is highly creative and will involve setting and writing the communications strategy to roll out across the organisation.  Along with the media work will come a wide marcomms remit including visual content for the website, maximizing search engine optimization programme, drafting, editing and proof reading press releases, creating power point presentations as well as brochures and fact sheets. You will report directly to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for managing the Marketing Communications Assistant. 

You & the Role:
  • You will have significant experience in communications, media and ideally marketing and will come from either an agency or in-house background. 
  • You will have a background of working in the technology industry so can disseminate technical information into layman terms. 
  • You will have a knack for creativity and be ambitious and innovative.
  • Your interpersonal skills will be excellent and you will be a confident, organised and accurate communicator.
  • You will not be phased by all forms of Microsoft software and HTML and be readily able to create online and print media content. 
  • It will be in your nature to be pro-active and self motivated and you will easily be able to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ideally you will possess a life sciences or academic sciences degree, though this is not essential
 
My client will look at someone on a freelance/fixed term or permanent basis. This is a key hire for the company so they are happy to be flexible for the right individual.
