Leading Healthcare Organisation
Director of Communications
This leading healthcare organisation is one of the most high profile government bodies in the UK. After a shift in the healthcare budget, the organisation had bold plans to transform the role of communications to improve the UK healthcare service, with openness and transparency at its heart. This career changing role required a person who could lead and motivate the team, handle the pressures of contentious 24/7 news at a local and national level, organise senior Minister briefings, and advise the CEO on key reputational issues.
We carried out a full assessment to establish the requirements and challenges of the role, including meetings with the key stakeholders, the main reports and communication agencies. Using a blend of traditional headhunting methods, an online advert in PRweek.com, placement in social media and extensive referrals from key industry contacts, Hanson Search confidentially secured an outstanding candidate, sensitively handled the offer and resignation process, documented and monitored diversity and handled all feedback in an appropriate manor.
Despite the time frame being reduced during the process, Hanson Search received very positive feedback from the client and was congratulated on their shortlist in such a limited time frame (10 weeks from start to offer). From the shortlist of five candidates, three candidates were hireable for the position.
